check the sensors, your brakes will function properly but your abs system will not . anti lock brakes have sensor in each wheel that detect if wheels arelocking up and will release hydraulic fluid accordingly to keep a wheel from locking up and causing you to skid or loose control.

there are abs sensors at each wheel, when you changed the pads you likely pulled a wire off the sensor or it may just be dirty. If you go back in and inspect the sensor and wire it may be obvious. You can also try disconnecting the battery cable, wait 30 seconds then hook it back up. this will sometimes clear the code. If there is an actual problem the light will come back on.
