Italy the best team in the world by the end of the world cup?

If Italy plays like they did against Czhec or Ghana there isn't a single team including Germany and Brasil that can stop them.

Not really. But Italy is lucky? It seems so, but that's how they play, just prevent from losing, then win by sneaking some goals. That penalty against Australia was lucky but italy did hold on with 10 men for whole second half, almost, and you can't say for sure they would lose in overtime.
Italy is different from other teams. Maybe like England in this world cup, which is not play best soccer but wins. It's hard for Italy to win teams because they can't score much, but it's also hard for teams to beat them (it's possible, very, but stats says it's hard). Both 94 winner Brazil and France have to beat Italy by penalty kicks in final and quaters respecitively. Euro 2000 France have to take them to overtime. WC 02, korea beat italy, but over-time and some controversial stuff. Euro 04 Italy went out without losing a game. Also Italy always struggle with smaller teams, and though they haven't play against a big team in competitive matches since the euro 2000 final, they can win them in friendlies. Italy doesn't look good, but that's how they have always been in tourneys.

Ya, Italia can really beat on people if they try, they won't make stupid Ghana type mistakes. I get a heart attack watching those guys play they do just what they have to to win. I think they will do well against the tough teams even if they don't win. When they are pressed even by crappy teams like the states they tend to fall apart, against teams that are good but not so high strung they will do ok even if they don't win the game they won't play terribly either.

But on the other hand if italy plays like it did against the states or the aussies and needs luck to win them the game then they will find themselves coming up short in this years world cup

Everyone thinks just because teams like Brazil Argentina and germany score lots of goals against teams makes them superior. Thats not the case If you expect those teams to score alot of goals on Italia you will be highly disapointed

If Italy play with the help of the referee you mean, and when they met an opponent that was difficult to play agains (not necessarily the best) like Australia and USA, they sucked, if they meet Argentina they would have lost with at least 4-0 (If the referee is not fixed)

Italy is my favorite team. But you can't fool yourself by telling yourself that they are the best. Yes, they do have one of the better teams, and I agree, they did great against the Czech's, but did you see yesterday's game? Against Australia. They didn't play that well. But they do have a great team, and if they can step it up when they need to and get the ball to their powerful strikers, like Toni, then they will definitely have a chance.
