It IS FAKE. Not just the fact that it is STAGED but come on they have revealed how fake it is. They have shown how they have things set up to amplify the sounds to make it sound like the hits are bigger. If it was REAL people would be getting hurt, and injured, on a constant basis. Yeah those guys are in shape, no doubt. Yeah they work out to get in shape. I won't take anything away from them as ATHLETES, but it is ENTERTAINMENT. Go to the house shows where they don't have TV to make sure you only see the right angles. Speaking as someone who has seen the bad camera angles as well. You will see some FALLING ahead of time. On TV they are usually able to cover it with where they show the scene. Sometimes though the dude starts to fall earlier then he should and they can't cover it. Back when WCW was in buisness I doubt that most of these people who say it is fake would have stood a chance in the Power Plant, the WCW's school, when it held open auditions. Most don't recognize the pure athletics that it takes to become a wrestler. Keep in mind though just because you have to be in great shape, doesn't mean that the moves are real.

Martha - you know so little. Road shows are for beginners, trying "hard" to make their own brand so they can make the big time. Sure they work for low pay; and the customer's don't pay a lot to see the "show."

It is sports entertainment, pure and simple. The term "fake" can be equally applied to any "entertainment movie, or tv program." Everything is staged, choreographed, rehearsed.

Yes, sometimes the wrestlers take chances by "adding to" the planned outcome; and oftentimes get seriously hurt in the process. Not every punch, every fall, or any other "antic" in the ring is guaranteed without injury. That's the nature of their talent, ability and risk they pay.

As for "get in the ring" and, "i'll prove you wrong," that has been time-worn. Any non-paid wannabie wrestler wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell to beat or otherwise overpower a pro wrestler - and keep in mind, any pro wrestler would dearly love to prove it - because that's not rehearsed, programmed, etc. That's the only correct statement you made. And anyone wannabie would be severely punished.

Yes, the pro's share motel rooms, airplane seats, locker dressing rooms, and most are quite close friends. And yes, there are times, in the ring, where a rehearsed maneuver goes wrong, sometimes tempers flare, etc. but it soon settles down.

Guess you don't even have a clue as to the "number signals" do you (you know those quick moments of whisper in the ring corner)
Do you know what a 43 is? Probably not.

A choreographed match cannot be said aloud, like, "okay you throw me to the mat, grab my foot, twist it, and make me squeel until I flop the other foot across the ring rope." Instead, that maneuver would be like saying, 76.

Much like cops say 10-4 over two-way radios - get it?

Its all entertainment, and lately its all about story lines (anywhere from 7-10 ongoing at any time), and more sexual exploitation of females in the name of entertainment.

The shame however is, that far too many youngsters at the arenas, and yes, even at home, are exposed to this sort of conduct. Wrong, wrong!

But then, maybe that's why the ratings are down?

I don't watch too much wrestling on TV anymore.
It's not because it Fake, because it's not.
I go to Independent shows with people who love to wrestle and barely make enough money from it to eat with.
They do it because they love it.

Any one who says it fake never had a 200-3000 lb man run at them full speed and close line them.
their bodies have to take a lot of punishment night after night.

I start wrestling camp next month if everything goes well.
I have many male friends who have turned Pro with independent promoters of Wrestling.

Every time I stay behind to talk to them or congratulate them I see welts and cuts and bruises all over them. And they smile and shrug it off.
They do hit each other. My best friend Lafors is in the army and say that wrestling camp was tougher than the army.

Could you do the same?
I really don't think so.
To the people who say it's fake.
Step into the ring and I'll show you just how "Fake" it is.

Is wrestling fake? The in ring results are predetermined and many of the moves that they make reduce the damage they take. Many of the hits are real. Look at all of the injuries that take place. But most of it is fake. My 10 year old son could pin big show if he was on the mat and he hit him two dozen times in the head with a steel chair.

You need proof? Are you stupid? When one guy jumps up so the other can lift them......that means it is set up. Choreographed.

WHile they may be hurt....falling and landing hurts.....the actual "moves" they do and the order they are done in are rehearsed and practiced. You really think the guys that stand there and yell really hate eachother? They use the same dressing room and shower for Christ sake!

Didn't you ever see that reality show for WWF or WWE whatever. It was a bunch of people who wanted to get into the WWwhatever. Had to choreograph their own 'fights' and what not.

You need to grow up. Or open your eyes.

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!! RESPONDING TO YOUR 'ANSWER' TO MY QUESTION IN REGARDS TO 3 CARD POKER. Gambeling may not be for everyone but at least I know exactly what I'm getting into. I know that the odds are against me. You didn't even know what your watching is fake!

Ouch Ouch, stop slamming your foot on the mat while you graze my forehead with your arm!

It's entertainment boo of course it's fake. Wrestlers get paid for stunts, I mean they do get injured but it's fake they act out there aggressions they are not real opponents. Each match is planned out and rehearsed.
Old school wrestling is alot better you know with Andre the Giant. It was less acting and more wrestling.

Doing fake stuff must be done correct. They are trained to wrestle, but must require to do some fake stuff. They must make the fake stuff seem real. IT takes work.

The WWE stated because they didn't want to pay sports franchise taxes that they were "entertainment" and not a sport. So the answer to your question is that the wrestling federation said it was fake!
