Odin is chief of the Aesir. Thor, the god of storms, is his son. Loki, god of mischief, is his adopted son. Heimdall is guardian of Bifrost, the rainbow bridge that connects Asgard, home of the gods, to Midgard or Earth.

yeah i know a little you can start by reading the poetic edda, I like the Larrington translation, but most consider Hollanders the english classical standard some of which can be found here

They were the Norse gods (Vikings). They included Thor, Loki, etc., and were supposed to live in Valhalla.
