I just ate a Mr. Goodbar, and when I went to open it I found directions on the back for how to get the wrapper open! Are people becoming so stupid that we have to instruct them on how to open candy?

Yes, peolple are getting dumber. In fact, it was proven that the mental age of the general population is now 12! It was 14 ten years ago, so it's dropping, still. Plus there's the fact that stupidity is highly celebrated, it's rewarded with international attention in movies, TV reality shows, people think it's funny to be stupid. And since they can't be really smart because they're not and because it's regarded as being a serious tight ***, might as well be funny...
Also, there's phenomena like Paris Hilton who's a total airhead but rich and every little girl wants to be her... In what way does that help an already ailling society?? Why can't they want to be like Jodie Foster?
I was watching tv the other day and there was a commercial for women's deodorant and it was a cartoon. As I kept on watching I realized that cartoons are everywhere, for adults.
Did you know that Jacques Demers, the Hockey coach was illeterate? He became famous none the less, super rich, and you got people with college degrees that can't find jobs because they are too qualified... So my vote is YES, people are getting dumber by the minute.

We have people from other countries visiting and living here. There could be a good chance that they never had a Mr. Goodbar before.

It's like those idiot warnings like Caution Hot on a coffee cup from 7-11 or w/e...someone somewhere couldnt open the goodbar and complained

Well...maybe, but I also think it's because there are a lot of people here who don't speak english, or atleast very well, so they need simplistic instructions. Or it could be the increase of latch-key children in the country. But then again, President Bush was ELECTED this time!

Company do that so they don't get sued for everything. It's to do with the law but its not people getting dumber. It's just..
