I have contacts, I haven't really put much thought into the laser surgery. Laser if you can would be great. It would save me about $200 a year.

My sister works in a surgery room. And she gets a lot of reverse surgeries due to complications. If there were no complications whatsoever I would say lazer surgery. But because I know there are, I say contacts.

If I had poor eyes I would want lazer surgery! I heard contacts are uncomfortable.

I had Lasik surgury and have LOVED not having to wear contacts or glasses. I see 20/20 now. I wake up in the morning and can immediately see everything. It's an amazing feeling after spending 21 years with 20/400 vision. I actually had to have the surgury performed twice because my eyes were in such bad shape. Thank goodness for technology!!

LASIK is a very safe procedure, even for people who lead an active lifestyle. In fact, the army is routinely performing LASIK on personnel who are certainly exposed to many of the possible problems normal active people are everyday.

Here are the statistics, these facts were gathered after testing 100 patients who had endured LAsik one year after their surgeries.

20/25 or better = 93.0%
20/40 or better = 100.0%
Complication rate = 0.4%
Enhancement rate = 2.0%

It is important to note that all things registered under the complication column were merely elongated healing times, and that no lifelong problems resulted from these surgeries.

Now the otherside of the spectrum,...Contacts,...

Studies have shown your eyes continue to grow weaker even with the use of contacts. They aren't as expensive as Lasik in one dose,...but you will continue to have to pay for contacts for the rest of your life, thus the resulting bill will eventually total much higher then the LAsik.

Then there is the sheer annoyance of doc appt's,...waiting for your prescription, putting them in everyday,...having irritated eyes from pollutants that often get trapped on or behind the lens.

I say if your a care free person like me, and hate being held back by anything, go for the the Lasik, I just wanted to give you decent information in which to make your decision,...not just say, Go for Lasik cuz I say so,...who the hell am I to say anything,...lol

Best of Luck,...*oh I thought of one more, it's easier to make eyes at a potential significant other with nothing between the chemistry*,...lol I'ma Dork!

lazer surgery because if you lose the contacts, thats extra money.. they can irritate your eyes and they are too much of an hassle... with surgery, a little bit of down time and your eyesight has improved and no glasses!!!

what if something went wrong with the surgery and you wound up shooting lazers from your eyes? actually, that would be kind of cool too! ;-)

If you can afford it, go with Lasik surgery... Should keep you seeing clearly for at least 15 years with no worries...

...Plus, you can see clearly underwater, and other things that you can't do with contacts...
