I recently tuned into an NPR (National Public Radio) program that was concerned with heroin addiction among teens and young adults. In many areas of the country, heroin has become the drug of choice. The available product is both inexpensive and pure. Clinics are hard-pressed to provide needed services for heroin addicts as the numbers have exploded. We are also finding that "crystal meth" is becoming a huge problem in many communities around the country. Recently, "crystal meth" has become increasingly popular as a "club drug." Local law enforcement is feeling overwhelmed as it deals with the increasing problem of "crystal meth" production and problems associated with "crystal meth" abuse.

What recommendation(s) do you have for dealing with the problems of substance abuse and substance dependence among drug users? What factor(s) in society do you think are related to susbstance abuse and dependence?

first suggestion, stop listening to national socialist radio... they're a bunch of wakkos, and this is coming from a liberal

second, repair the family unit.... it's lack of parenting that causes this... drugs have always been around, that's not hte problem... it's the emptiness that kids are trying to fill that's new

You ask a tough question here...

Moral stance... tough question requires tough answers!

1. Make the tariff for trafficking, dealing, using, higher...

2. make them go through detox... I'm sick of paying TAX so these people can get special dispensation in government help!

3. a fully handled and monitored, back to work program.

Get tough... absolution... zero tolerance... the only way!

You would reduce burglary, muggings, knife crime...in the process!
