I have a logical mind and am able to conduct an intelligent arguement without getting childish.

There's your first failure (to speak your language: "your first f**k up"): your very question.

You only see two things in the world: This, or That. Black, or White. Liberal or Conservative. Good Guys, Bad Guys. Us, and Them.

Unable to formulate your own opinions on many things, you picked a "team" (Conservative -- however you chose to define that) and just follow that herd.

Can someone be FOR gun-control, and support a strong military?

Can someone enjoy traditions, and experiment with new ways of doing things?

And what about the Great Republican Paradox: Pro Death Penalty, and pro-, ahem, "Life". What is that?

US Republicanism since Reagan is definitely not Conservatism.

- A fundamental value of Conservatism is small government. Have you been to the D.C. area in the past few years? There's a population explosion, as the government has never been so large!

- Convervatism is fiscally prudent and responsible. Today's Republicanism? Massive, Historic Deficits!

Today's Republicanism is most definitely not Conservatism. It is closer to "I'm too lazy to think-for myself"--ism.

What is your point? Arguing never got anyone anywhere except angry. Talking point/counterpoint doesn't change people. People themselves must come to the realization on their own that what they originally believed was incorrect You pointing out how their attitude needs adjusting isn't going to endear them to you. They won't even acknowlege that you're right, even if you are, nor will they thank you for enlightening them. Everyone has their own point of view, and it's through seeing it for themselves that they finally come to change their minds. The best thing you can do, my friend, is to live life the best way you know how. Live by your moral convictions and by what God tells you is correct. When you live your life in such a way, people will notice and want to know more. People want to see your faith, not talk about it. It's what you're doing with it that matters to them. Engaging them in a battle of wits does what? You'll both be offended and no one wins. I've read some of the posts on your other questions. Some hit the nail right on the head. Before being so eager to take people on, make sure your life lines up with your speech. And before you think I'm slamming you in some way, I'm not. Just friendly advice. <*)))><

I'm not sure. I will go look at some of your other questions. But since I'm here now and want two points so I can become a points millionaire, I will speculate that we may have heard the point counter point from Rush and you may be a ditto head.

Because most are just on the anti-Bush band wagon and have no real knowledge or understanding of political or world affairs. There are some here that will discuss issues and have a brain, but not too many. Same can be said of conservatives here too.

Location, location, location. Even when yours is a new question, you're competing with (at least) thousands of registered users. It's a standard that most people will talk (or IM, or type answers) on subjects they are interested in. Perhaps you have to ask the right question . . .

Conservative and Liberal are things that spin doctors make up and maintain through the media. You are a dumb enough sheep to believe it. They just want you to marry and reproduce. Of course it's because you are trying to make the world a better place. Good little monkey in the zoo. Keep it up, monkey boy.

Liberals have to clear their talking points with Mr. Dean. It could take some time.

They're busy opposing the war they helped start.

Maybe they just assume you're the kind of conservative that's so convinced that what they think is true that they won't even listen to what the counterargument is. I'd be happy to argue with you, if you're not just looking for someone to yell at about how what you think is so much better.

They are too busy with the business of how many viagras did Rush get busted with! That's their #1 talking point today!

Maybe you aren't asking the right question. Just post the question and nix the posting of wanting to debate.
