is anyone else both suprised and disgusted at the role ronaldinho has been given, he is the most talented footballer since maradonna possibly more so, a god of the modern game, yet he is forced to play a more withdrawn and supportive role, so not only is he being denied the chance to shine but we are being denied the opportunity to watch him shine, and for those who think he must just be overrated well dont bother answering the question because you are just wrong and obviously have no idea about football. i mean come on this guy is a magician, apart from the obvous pleasure to be gained from watching england dissapoint us yet again with the expected poor performances and underachievment ronaldinho was this tournaments main attraction, so anyway who else feels robbed. and come on england get it together lads, three lions on a shirt etc. etc.

I have to admit that I had never seen Ronaldinho play before the World Cup 2006 started and yet I have been very impressed by what I saw in the early matches. So much so that I am now convinced that Brazil will win the World Cup. I have heard from others that he has been holding back and have wondered if it was in some small way to either let Ronaldo have his day in the sun by beating the record or if they are holding him back some to shine in the semi-finals/finals. I hear what others are saying about soccer being a team sport but personally, I would like to see Ronaldinho bust loose. You can look at it both ways - if he holds back then maybe the whole team will as well OR if he bust loose the team might just rise to the occasion. I think the later would happen and it would be one heck of a sight to see.

I agree completely, I feel robbed but I think ronaldinho himself wants to play that role. I think he enjoys being part of a team and he looks like he enjoys just holding the midfield and getting the play going and trying to get some good runs from people. He's been constantly saying he just wants to help ronaldo get all the goals and ronnie usually plays as a striker, but with ronaldo, adriano, robinho and fred all competing for that same spot, and ronaldinho also good in midfield, I guess it makes more sense for him to be there.
This is Brazil by the way, their players are all of an extremely high standard. If one shines, it could potentially be bad for the rest and teamwork is key in winning. I would love to see ronaldinho play some good football like he does week in week out for the catalans but he does not need to with the quality players he has supporting him, where as in barca, he has to do a lot himself, which makes him shine!

The Brazilian manager calls the shots , it may be that his is saving Ronaldinho to shine in the semi & final when his skill would be needed ,,

brazil is all about teamwork
a player can't win a game, a team does
pele played in a team too
it doesn't matter how good a single player is
if he is that good, which i am not denying because I saw some games of his, he should see opportunities and capitalize on them
because he has not as of yet, with brasil being such a strong team, i think it proves how much better a player ronaldihno is because he is not selfish, but rather being part of a group

Yes it's a shame , but he doesn't have to shine, what is important is that he and Brasil win this WC and will be proved once more(like when Barcelona win Champions League) that he is THE BEST player in the world at the moment !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Defenses are keying on Ronaldinho, that is why he hasn't been able to break free (and why Ronaldo has).

But he even said himself that he's not worried about it, so Brazil's fans shouldn't be either.
