"I disapprove of what you say. I disagree with what you say. And I defend your right to say it."
This is the essence of free speech in a free society. I am very sad reading the posts here from people born and raised in America who still can't understand this basic concept.

If you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything.
Don't be so stupid as to think, that if flag burning is not made a crime, that every illegal in the US that hates you, that every Muslim in the US that hates you and that every non-citizen that lives in the US that hates you, will be burning your flag and laughing at you for being so stupid as to say "just do it".
I for one will have no tolerance for such an activity and will honor the lives of all those who fought for our freedoms, from the Revolutionary War to today, by putting out that fire.
Try burning the Mexican flag in downtown Mexico City! Go to Iran and burn their flag! Try desecretating the Palestinian flag on the "new west bank"! I dare you. If you don't like America, the most generous government and people on Earth, then take a trip to a place you really like...and stay there...if they will let you. Oh ya, be sure you have your passport and visas or you may not get in. Stand for something.

The constitution gives the real right to burn our flag. The flag is the symbol of democracy & therefore the right to burn our flag is shown. It gives me the right to hate the slime who burn our flag.
God bless the USA & long may our flag wave!

I would say false and this is why, the flag represents our country and we should show respect. Its like slapping your teacher because you can. If your wanting to burn the flag then just leave the country

People don't fight and die for the flag. Soldiers should only fight and die to protect and preserve the Constitution, the Union and the People, not a piece of cloth.
PS Mexico and Palestine are countries I don't think we want to emulate.

Then just put a pistol to your head and pull the trigger. The gun doesn't care that it is against your skull. Men and women fight and die for that flag so show some respect to it.
