Interesting. I do believe homosexuals are wired differently than heterosexuals. (on a sexual level, anyway) I don't know if I'd call it a defect from a secualar view.
I remember research from several years ago that showed a gay male's hyperthalamous (sp? part in the brain that controls the sexuality) was more simular to a straight woman's than a straight male.

The terms 'birth defect' and 'disorder of the brain' both imply that there is something wrong with being homosexual, and it should be 'fixed'. People used to think that way about left-handedness. Different doesn't mean broken, whether homosexual, autistic, or left-handed

I have a hard time thinking homosexuality is a mental disorder, something physically or chemically wrong with the brain, or something you are born with naturally.
It's just a choice. You like certain people.

I believe you are born with it, there are old studies and new ones alike everyone wants to call it a disease so they can find a cure for it and make the world a better place in the christian eye of things. I was born gay at 7 years old i knew it for sure, and have ever since. Some people don't realize it till later in their lives some do at early ages.

I believe that homosexuals are born that way. on the other hand i in no way believe it is a syndrome. you simply feel an attraction towards an other person. Who cares anyway. live and let live

Ah, but autistic children mostly grow out of their autism when they're older. Gay people do not.
Also, saying that it's a disorder implies that it's wrong.

I don't think its a "disorder" or "birth defect" I do believe that we are born with it. .It's just who we are.. and those who think that its a choice, did you choose to be straight? Can we say no...you just are..
