A monarchy is a form of government- with a king or emperor- some kind of inherit-able leadership.

A dynasty can happen in a monarchy. It is a period of time. It's when one family rules a nation for a long period of time. Usually, a dyansty (a long period of one family's holding the throne)has a definite influence on the nation's culture, art, etc.

You are absolutely correct. They are so similar. The difference is that a dynasty is a series of rulers, a monarchy is a series of rulers with the titles King, Queen, etc.
So monarchy applies mostly to European royalty, who use those titles (with the exception of Russia, where the titles used were Czar, Czarina, Empress, which makes them a dynasty, although one could argue that these titles are simply translations of the English terms, as there was a great deal of intermarriage between the Russian and other European rules.)
Other nations, such as China, Japan, India, where rulers are called by other names but where the title is inherited, are properly called a dynasty.
Hope this answers your question?

No. A dynasty is defined as "a succession of rulers who belong to the same family for generations", while a monarchy is a form of government in which a single king or queen, a monarch, is Head of State. The dynasty would refer to the ancestry of the monarch.
