Stock up on formula if you are not breast feeding, and diapers if you can.Other things like a thermometer, a syringe for the nose for when they get stuffy and can't blow by themselves, bibs, and lots of love, like you need to know that right? You'll also need lots of tlc yourself, so look for someone you trust to look after your baby after the second month or so for a few hours and go to a spa and relax.Good luck baby girl.

alot of other people have suggested good things, but what i found the most useful was my fisher price aquarium bouncy chair. it normally retails for like $45 or so. it was a god send. plus, like the other person said, get rid of the diaper genie, the diaper champ is ten times better. easier to use and so much cheaper. the diaper genie requires expensive refill bags whereas you can use regular grocery bags in the champ. another recommendation....go to babies r us. they usually have a clearance section where you can get really good stuff cheap. i got that bouncy chair for $20. baby stuff can add up fast. might as well save when you can

You're in for the adventure of a lifetime. No matter how old you and your child get, he or she will always be your baby. You'll need plenty of patience, sleep, and the ability to be flexible. Also, lots of diapers, soap, and a good washer and dryer. Have fun and enjoy while your child is in your life. They grow up fast!

Get you sleep now and know that it is a really good idea to take family and friends up on them watching the baby.
You also are going to want to go ahead and get some bigger clothes because babies grow fast so make sure that you have some thing for the baby to grow into as well as what fits TODAY

A bassinet is a good consideration if you have not gotten a baby crib yet. If you want to keep your baby close in the first few months.
Also, you need to know about keeping your infant sleeping face up/on side (SIDS Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)There are some baby sleep positioners you can use to help.

swing, diapers, crib, diapers, hamper, diapers, bottles, diapers, wipes, diapers, baby bathtub, diapers, towels/washcloths, diapers, formula, diapers, crib sheets, diapers, baby toys, diapers, more than "some" clothes, diapers......
by the way, throw out the diaper genie, its such a waste and you'll be emptying it like every day (sometimes 2 times a day when the childs diaper size gets bigger.)

A ton of love that is coming your way!!!!!!!!
You will be so happy! Congrats.
Don't worry, you have an anxious feeling that all new mothers have. You will be going to the store for little things from now on. You will be tired sometimes while you do it and sad when they grow up and you stop.
Enjoy the best part of your life!!!

high chair, tons of bottles and nips, formula (unless you're breast feeding in which case you'd need a pump), a bunch of colorful plastic toys and noise makers, and a large assortment of baby-esk medicines (baby Tylenol, rash cream, lotions, anything with 'baby' or 'infant' in the title etc...). the list keeps going.
by the way, we had a diaper genie. it eventually lost its novelty and we stopped using it. trash cans work perfectly fine.
