I had a miscariage back in nov. I started with light bleeding that stopped then some brown spotting. My doctor order three ulturasounds the first showed a low heart beat the second ultrasound a week later showed an even lower heart beat and the last one showed no heart beat at all. I had a D&C done that same week. I'm now concerned, am I going through the same problem or is it just implantation bleeding?

I'm not sure. It could be a delayed or missed miscarriage. it could be just one of those things. It's a little late for implantation bleeding, this occurs a week after conception and is pink in colour.

I really don't know but I hope it isn't bad news. If you're in the UK you can make an appointment with the early pregnancy assesment unit (EPAU) at your local hospital. Just explain about your previous miscarriage and explain your symptoms and ask for an assesment.

Good luck xxxx

I'm really sorry to hear of your previous miscarriage.

I do however think that you need to go to the Emergency Room as soon as possible, because I doubt what you are experiencing is implantation bleeding. I think this because implantation bleeding usually occurs around 7-10 days after conception, which is before one would even notice a missed period. I doubt it would show up so far into pregnancy.

Sometimes, having sex can irritate the cervix of a pregnant woman, in very much the same way as a nose bleed. The cervix becomes tender, and the capillaries can make a little bit of blood show up.

Other times, women do spot early in pregnancy, and everything turns out to be fine. I spotted at 10 weeks, and again at 14 weeks, and everything was fine with the baby both times. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound, and could see no cause for the spotting either.

Hi there, I have two daughters, and have also had two miscarriages. My first instinct, would be to call your doctor, or local hospital and ask to speak to a nurse. Describe what you are experiencing and go from there. From my own personal experience, I was informed to not really worry unless you see bright red blood. Brown spotting is normal and I had it with both of my girls, who arrived here safe and sound. I did not have brown spotting with my miscarriages. They both began with red blood, similar to the color of the blood at the beginning of your period, but very light. They progressed to a heavier bleeding, and both continued on with cramping. My first miscarriage which was at around 6 weeks pregnant was less painful, it was much like a bad case of cramps, and bleeding. There were small clots, but larger than anything I'd had with any period. With my second miscarriage, which was at 10 weeks, there were much more severe cramps, contractions mildly similar to labor, and large clots and much blood. There wasn't much doubt either time that it was a miscarriage I was experiencing. If in the case that it does progress to red blood, and you think you could be having a miscarriage (and I don't think you are, but check to be safe) you should still see a physician. Some times your body doesn't remove everything and there is a need to have it removed by your doctor...it is important you see your doctor after a miscarriage because if your body does not remove everything there is a chance for infection that if left untreatd, from my knowledge can be fatal. So good luck, and I think you're ok! :) But I would always check with a trained professional, since on a forum like this anyone can answer your question, so it's nothing more than advice. :)

If you are pregnant and are bleeding or having brown discharge you need to go to the hospital right away. Call your doctor before you leave or on the way there.

Im 30 wks pregnant with my first child, and so every little thing worries me. I had a little brown discharge as well, and went to the dr and they said as long as it wasnt bright red it wasnt anything to worry about, because brown dicharge can be from various things such as sex, hemmoroids, and many other things. I wouldnt worry about it, but if you are then ask your doctor about it. Congrats and good luck! =)
