This is a serious question that has an answer I will publish after I get a few responces.

If you have a person who talks to and receives instruction from people who are not there on a regular basis and spend money on said person, what are they considered?

Not talking about the pre-schoolers either

Growing up we called then Christian.

I'm not looking for hate mail here, just to let people look at something another way. Although I am not of the faith, I have true religious tolerance. Anybody can be whatever religion they want to be as long as it promotes them to be a better person and not holds them back.

I'm not sure what you mean about spending money, but some people ar said to have the gift of talking to spirits. I would, after a little research as to whether or not they were really talking to someone, call them either Gifted, or Crazy. Ask questions about the person they are talking to and research it. What is the persons name ? Where are they now ? That sort of thing....Hope this helps.

Depending on what these "so called" people are saying to a person has a major impact on what you would call them. Religious or mentally unstable. If the person is elderly then maybe its a form of Alzheimer's or something. I would suggest you getting help for this person.

Maybe he he is having visual and auditory hallucinations. Maybe he is having an extra perceptive communication with a non-human creature. I can't tell except after I meet the guy and judge.

I see people like this daily. The first thing I look for is an earbud in their ear. If so, they are talking on hands-free celular.

If they are spending money on a person that is not there than I would say that they are really really lonely.
