They may have been around in poor times (Great Depression etc) and say they never want to live like that again. Nesting their money for things like that or nursing care. Who knows, they could just think they take the money with them when they die

Maybe cause money really isnt everything to them. Just cause you have money doesnt mean that you have to live like the rich and famous. I guess they are just keeping it on the down low, cause could you imagine knowing that one of your family members was rich and then people who you have never seen in years just pop out of no where asking for money. That would make me want to act like i am poor.

Some people know how to excessive self control. Maybe they are saving for the future-maybe your future. Maybe they are saving just in case something unfortunate happens. Maybe just knowing they have the money is enough for them and they feel no need to flaunt it?

humble perhaps. maybe they want to save money for u!
maybe theyre just not comfortable with aving a rich lifestyle cause they came from a not so rich liestyle before?
maybe they dont want to spend....

They may just remember how hard it was to work and save the money they have. They may also want their children and grandchildren to know how important it is not to let money go to their heads.
