If you're pregnant immediately stop taking birth control. If you think you are pregnant, I would stop taking birth control, stop having sex so that if you are not pregnant you won't become pregnant, and go take a pregnancy test. If your pregnancy test is negative and you still think you could be pregnant, please visit a doctor or your local family planning association. Family planning will also test you for pregnancy for free. For detailed answers to exactly what birth control will do to a pregnancy it would be wise also to contact your local family planning association. They have lots of free information, and will talk to you if you are a teen, confidentially. Confidentially means they will not talk to your parents, they will not call your home as long as you let them know not to. It would be a good idea when you visit to discuss what the boundaries are between you and who you are talking to, so you will know what you will and won't want to discuss. I went there when I was a teen, and they are very helpful, and it is very open and not embarassing. If you are pregnant and do not want the baby, birth control will not give you an abortion. From what I understand continuing to take birth control can cause birth defects to your unborn child, but is not a way to abort a pregnancy. :) If you are just curious, and are a teen, it would still be a good idea to talk to a doctor or some sort of trained professional. I imagine with an advanced Yahoo! search you could find some answers to satisfy your curiosity. Also, I would be careful to look for credentials or speak directly to a trained physician ( in person, where usually credentials are displayed ) before you take their word as truth. That's how many pregnancies as well as tradgedies happen! :) This is my best advice, good luck! :)

Ok, I'm 30 wks pregnant and a very strong OPPOSER of abortion. So if thats what you're trying to do, STOP. First of all, unless you have birth control theres no way you can get it bc they will do a pregnancy test 1st, and you shouldda been taking it if you do have it, and secondly, birth control isnt even a good way to abort, ask any professional, they will tell you that using birth control isnt that effective in killing the baby while in utero, but it will cause irreversable birth defects, and stillbirth. But why would you even ask that while youre pregnant? THAT IS PURE IGNORANCE!

no no NO! These people are SO wrong. If you are on birthcontrol and happen to be in the small percentage of people that become pregnant, it will NOT hurt your baby at all. You would miss a period, and then take a pregnancy test. From then on you should discontinue your birth control, but before you know it isn't a problem.
If you are already pregnant, though, there is no reason to take birth control and you shouldn't.

Although there is no conclusive evidence that a brief exposure to the artificial hormones contained in hormonal birth controls will cause harm to an unborn child, it is generally advised that you stop using this type of birth control if a pregnancy is suspected.

No one will agree especially doctors and med companies but yes! It can, ever wonder why anyone born after say 1978 has a really high pitched voice? Ever wonder why people are looking more an more alike? Keep it simple we all need to get back to basics and quit loading our bodies up with all sorts of chemicals ESPECIALLY if you will create children. There are other more conventional methods to choose from

Uhh duhh. Why would u use birth control if you're pregnant? That is unless your intentions are to get rid of it. Not a smart idea.

You should contact your doctor regarding this issue. You cannot get pregnant while you're already pregnant. I don't see why you're taking these pills, unless you want to get rid of the baby.
