I'm already one of them.
I am deaf so I prefer that I cannot hear bad stuff coming out of anyone else's mouth lest I peradventure and hear it.
I like it because I can be more understanding of the world, more intelligent and capable of communicating through speech (which not many deaf people can accomplish). If you want to read what I wrote earlier about my deafness, click on the link in the source list to hear more.

If choosing neither wasn't an option, I'd have to be mute, since I don't really have much to say most of the time. I don't think I'd mind getting by with a text-to-speech synthesizer to communicate. Besides, if I was unfortunate enough to suffer from blindness or deafness without any way to have my sight and hearing back the way they were, I'd have to commit suicide.

Mute. I wouldn't mind ever talking, I talk too much anyways. If I was mute at least I could communicate many other ways.
