I caught my husband cheating on me on fathers day, he came home packed all his things then left. He has not been home since. I call him on his cell and he tells me we are finished, we have been togther for 8 years. We have a 2 year old daughter. He is the only man I have ever been with, we met when we were both 16 years old. My question is, I only work weekends i started working more now that this has happened but my rent is due next week and he won't help me pay it. I have no place to go with my daughter, I am wondering if anyone knows where i can get some help? to pay my rent?

Yes you can go tot he Department of Social Services and request emergency assistance. They have funding in which they can help pay your rent one time. They also have a list of other agencies that can help you. You may also want to look into childcare to have you daughter stay while you work.

I would also suggest that you file immediately for divorce under adultery. The divorce proceedings can rather quickly and make sure you ask for ALIMONY and CHILD SUPPORT. Since you made less than him.

Talk to your landlord and tell them the situation. They may be able to assist you in this manner as well. Especially if his name is on the Lease. If it is...please keep your Lease on you just in case he decides to lock you out.

I know you may still love him but honestly you need to make some choices on your situation now and worry about reconicialtion later.

Take care and God Bless

You can file for abandonment. And that can take some pressure off some of your bills... you can garnish his wages. Also you can get immediate support. You need to ask a lawyer ASAP. Go to children and family services (in your county) and see what type of assistance you can get. Usually they have free or very inexpensive lawyers.

I'm SO sorry this happened to you. Men are such slime sometimes. It sounds like a mid life crises he's going through. Even though in a relationship there are always two who can make it work or destroy it, it sounds like you got totally smacked in the face with this... he's got to pay... and he will.

Get a great lawyer... it will make all the difference.

sweety..first of all...Damn him!! second..you need to find a divorce lawyer. ASAP!!!
he's being a selfish a$$hole, and you can bet right now he's got a lawyer in his pocket!
he wont help you because he might be trying to make sure you are as helpless as possible so that he gets custody of your daughter.
he's her father...its his DUTY to make sure she is okay...its a shame some parents don't realize that.

your lawyer can set up and emergency hearing involving your daughter and child support. you need to contact the child support office in your area...tell them you are int he middle of a divorce and register him with them as SOON AS THE ink dries on the divorce papers....that way if he ever "skips" a payment...they will give you what you need, and he will then owe the state money.
your lawyer will also be able to help you get services that will help you financially until the mess is over.

don't worry...you will be okay!!! many of us have been through this..the important thing is that you have your daughters love.
*hugs*

There are different social services that will help you. For example red cross and other places can help you with your bills. Go to the Family Independence Agency and they can assist you. Don't be proud..accept whatever you can. Also churches in your area should be willing to help. Our church takes "love offerings" for families in need. Don't depend on your husband. He has already shown you how much he cares. Stay strong for your self and your daughter.

Please keep in touch. If I can think of anything else..I will re post it. There should be some women centers in your area.

Good luck and remember that God is with you.

social services is a start. you might want to look into family shelters for just you and your daughter. Then take his *** to court for child support and a divorce. then sue the beegeebees off of him if he gave you a transmissable desease, even if the bum has no money now he might in the future. DUMP HIM!!!!!!!!! you should change your phone number and really give him the silent treatment.

Check Child & Family Services in your area.
They may be able to help you. Maybe even check Welfare.
I know it sounds awful but when you really need help, you'll do what you have to. Good Luck Sweetie!

Bummer. See a lawyer divorce him for abandonment and take 75% of his income in spousal and child support. Then he won't be able to afford his new squeeze.

there are programs, through social security or welfare, and if he lived there throughout the period that the rent is due, legally he has to pay at least half, it will gbe ok, ya sound like you will be better off without him anyway
