To Tex: G A Custer may have been foolish but he is well known for his bravery. I doubt whether he "cowered" anywhere.

custer got what was coming to him,the man was a ratbag,he is another one of those so called heroes that in true life was far from that,his tactics were to create a commotion away from the indian villages and the indians would ride out and then custer would attack the village where there were just women and children and old people and kill for the pleasure and thats one of many crimes against indians,this might not go down to well with americans but its a fact ,(read other history books not just american ones)and to answer your question who ever it was done the world a favour
