It is a question of identity. do you think of yourself as the body known as (insert your name); do you think of yourself as thinking mind you know yourself to be (I think therefore I am); or do you think of yourself as your spirit (I am that I am, part of the one thing that is). Based on your answer, you will no doubt answer in a similar fashion to the second question, and unless both answers are the third, you and them are separate and disconnected. If you answer spirit, you and them are one, united as part of all that is. Therefore I am you and you are me and we are God!

If you don't know who you are, it really won't matter who I, am will it? But I think it's saying we want to know about everyone else, before we even know who we are ourselves. Know thineself, and to thine own self be true.
