Usually i think i know the answer to that, like when their team loses, they get angry and say they dont care about soccer. Thats what i think, How about you'll? (the one who actualy likes soccer) And by the way its football, The americans took the name football to their lousy sport thing or whatever.

You're totally wrong. We just hate soccer. We have no soccer team.
You only watch soccer because you don't have baseball or the NFL....

I wonder the exact same thing. If you hate something, then why would you even waste the time of day talking about it. I mean, obviously them coming here and telling us how soccer/football sucks and how their sports are better, are not going to change our mind. I know I don't like American football or baseball, but I'm not going to go and answer questions by telling them that those sports suck. That is just pointless.
You might be right. It could be some resentment over how they're not one of the best, and smaller, poorer third world countries can seriously beat them.

I'm American, and i just started watching and i find that because i know more about the sport and that it's a huge global competition, that i'm starting to like to sport more. Sure we have Football used for another sport but soccer just happened to be introduced to our country alittle too late. So we used a different term for it. it doesn't mean our Football is a lousy sport that's just an ignorant statement. i don't appreciate when someone makes fun American Football just like you don't like when americans make fun of Soccer. Many Americans make fun of Soccer just like you make fun of American Football, because we don't understand the sport. You see American Football as a weird idiotic sport, and we see Soccer as a fruity, gay sport. American Football is a very physically draining sport, the players risk the chance of injury just as much as Soccer players do. And it relies heavily on teamwork just like Soccer. So don't start using terms like "Lousy sport" when you don't know anything about it. At least have some respect for a sport you don't know about, i always had some respect for Soccer/Football until i started watching and had more respect for it. Once we know more about these sports, i think these attitudes will slowly start to change. Ignorant statements will only fuel more hatred and more misunderstanding towards these sports.
I love watching FIFA 2006 and although my Team lost, i still watch everyday because it's really exciting.

I completely understand what you're saying and I agree.
If you don't like football, then don't post on the FIFA World Cup section.
My team was sent home and I'm still watching football because I love it. Football is exciting and it's very enjoyable. And I really despise comments calling American football, "real football" and how soccer as they call it, is gay. That's really homophobic and if they think football is so easy, they should try running non-stop for over 90 minutes!
So, if they can't appreciate the sport, they should stop making ridiculous comments on it and go post on something they do like!

I can understand you're a little upset about that...but it's the same old same old, they just wanna be everywhere and through in their 2 cents, if they actually have anything to say or not. kind of annoying to those who'd like to talk about a certain topic...
the lack of fanbase in the US actually made me a little homesick when the word cup began (I'm from germany and can't believe I'm not home for that!). and it won't get any bigger here unless the US team actually wins a couple of games...like making it to the quarter finals or even the semi-finals! because everything that wins something gets big here...more money to be made.
still, I hope that soccer will become bigger and bigger here; soccer matches are just the most fun to watch for me.

they have nhl and nba and mlb because they can't play soccer
that's all there is too it
soccer is too long, and too boring for the us, who has a short attention span
everything has to be fast, and everything has to be action
the short attention span is also the reason why there are so many sports
add sucks, doesn't it americans?
personally, i like soccer, although i really got into it by myself when i was in the us
those that don't, can't appreciate the tradition behind it,
pele was even a diplomat of peace because of his fotbal career!
how can you say soccer is a piece of poop?
i don't see michael jordan, or eizerman, however you spell his name, or babe ruth being world diplomats of peace for the world!

Thank you for putting that up!! I have been wondering the same thing. One would think that if you don't care so much about football you wouldn't spend so much time trying to convince others about it. Plus some of them are pretty up and up on all the world cup stuff so you have to wonder...lousy losers I guess...

I know man, do Americans play with their foot? NO.
Then i hear them talking about their sport as the real football.
In my opinion i have tried to watch american fotball, and i just can't, i have to change the channel.it is so boring, and the players are not really athletes, i mean you see really fat guys playing in there! i would like to see those same fat guys runnig around in a soccer ( Real Football) game.

As for Americans and their national sports, it's no surprise they couldn't come up with something better than baseball and "American crappy football". They are not the cleverest people in the world, so one should take it easy with them.
