It is said that the past have shaped us in one way or another. But what if your past was traumatic. Should we leave it behind or still view it as lesson learned?

I was molested as a child and abused and lived a living hell
I am not proud of that, but it has shaped me into who i am today...
I think it depends on what your past was....... your supposed to be proud of things like heritage and things like that, the struggles in life are what help us learn and be stronger people today.
They are lessons learned

The past is something we should learn from so we do not keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Sometimes we may need some professional help to overcome the past.

In understanding our mistakes, we don't forget what had happened, but we are able to move on with our lives. When a situation from the past surfaces in the present, we are more aware of ourselves and hopefully we make different and better choices because we learnt from our past mistakes.

By learning from the past we become better and stronger people now in the present going into the future.

Even if you are not proud of your past speak up as it could help others not to make the mistake.

Being abused in many ways as a child,I had low self worth. But keeping the secret will hurt you more in the long run. An it is something they depend on.
Even if you bury it in sub con.it will resurface later.

get help now!

I had to move away from family and start new life keeping in touch with a few then later I confronted the unbelievers when I was stronger.

I have help others since then to come to peace I hope this will help you.

Use your past as a tool. Don't dwell on it, but remember the lessons you have learned. If you see it as traumatic try changing your perspective about it. Maybe what is in your past happened to strengthen your compassion for others. Maybe it has contributed to your bravery to push through it. Change the way you look at it and all will be good.
