may need to get a better set of mattresses. Also the further along you get in your pregnacy it will hurt worse....just need to put a pillow behind the lower back when you sit in a chair to support it and when you sleep on your side place a pillow between your knees this will help a great deal.

Well, I am 30 wks pregnant with my first child and havent had any problems that pregnant women usually do (such as vomiting or things like that), actually I havent even thrown up once....but I've had some pain in my lower abdomen, and the dr said that it was just the baby weight stretching the ligaments and muscles. So it could be how you're sleeping at night making the baby uncomfortable, so until you get up and move around the baby is still lying in the same spot. Try sleeping on your left side with a pillow between your legs and see if that helps. And you could be more than 5 wks along, regardless of when your last period was. I thought I was only a couple of weeks along (a month at the most) at my first appt, and I was actually 12 wks and 2 days, so the baby may be bigger than you think right now...but I'm sure its nothing so dont worry....try going to the bathroom before bed too so that your bladder isnt full and the baby has more room.....Good Luck =)

don't worry you will get all kinds of aches and pains... starting from day one. As long as the pain is not so severe that you can't function it shouldn't be a problem. You will probably also begin getting what feels like cramps from your period for the first few months, or sharp pains or aching in your lower abdomen... its just your uterus streching out, and the muscles that hold it up being too weak for the growing baby.... As long as nothing brings you extreme pain or effects your abiltiy to function don't worry too much about it. Try a warm (not hot) bath or even just changing positions often.

The best thing you can get when you are pregnant is a body pillow. Lay on your side and hug the body pillow at night. It will help your back tremendously. If you have a crappy old mattress, that certainly isn't going to help you while you are pregnant either. Even though your baby is still tiny, its already putting pressure on your insides!

It might be the matress you are laying on. Or if you are already gaining weight which some peaople do cause I did. Your back will hurt because of extra wieght it is supporting... But then again you might have a kidney infection which you can get when you are pregnant.... If it hurts when you pee go to your OB/GYN and he or she will give you a safe antibiotic...

If you really want to know an exact reason then you could try asking your doctor, but for right now I think it's only because of your bed, if youre only 5 weeks pregnant.
