I am trying to remember the name of a movie released about 1985. (I think that it took place in Australia or New Zeland) It was about an Australian school teacher in a one room school and she and her students were kidnapped and put in an underground cave. They escaped but the farmhouse they went to for safety was already in the hands of the kidnappers. They eventually kill the kidnappers after a "lord of flies" type battle. Weird I know.

Oh that is soooo awesome. I have been thinking about this movie for about 20 years now. I remember it scared the pants off me as a kid. I can see that they are going to release it on DVD 07/25/2006. I can't wait to see it again.

The movie you're thinking of is 'Fortress', made in Australia in 1996 and based on a novel by Gabrielle Lord (which in turn was inspired by a real-life kidnapping of an Australian teacher and students).

'Fortress' starred Rachel Ward, who is married to Bryan Brown.

There is a comidy that sort of sounds like that, but i don't think it has anything "lord of the flies"-like it's called "the gods must be crazy" , and it is a hoot to watch!!
