how the hell is the us # 5 on the world ranking list by fifa? please explain, they *ucking suck?

well excuse the language, but honestly, they are one of the worst team out there, can they stick to american football ( a copy of rugby, played by pussys w/ freaking armors) and baseball ( ......where they sit and spit for...hours...and hours and hours, and....wait...not, 3 strike, back at sitting and spiting)

Because of who they play against. IF they play 10 matches and win 8. And England plays 10 and wins 6. US will have a higher or as high a ranking. But if England is playing Germany, Spain, France and Italy. And the US is playing Canada, Mexico Columbia and Brazil. It's easy to see where they won the 8 games and who they lost against. Look at the pools in the World CUp. Brazil and Australia with Croatia and Japan. Why not Brazil, Italy and Portugal in the same pool, so the weaker teams get a shot for once.

Its a matter of form the ranking only show how they have been performing for the last 8 year, so rankings can only be used to predict expected results but hey its sports anything happen Brazil could be held to a nil all draw with a team and then two months later the same team be given 6. So rankings are a representation of the past.

Its because of their qualifying group. The US are in the North American qualifying section so they only play average teams - this puts their ranking up. Most real soccer nations don't take the rankings too seriously.

I'm sure the rankings will change after the world cup and definately the USA will not be #5 after the review of the rankings.Hopefully Ghana's ranking will go higher.

fifa's ratings are done by computer that makes a lot of mistakes. mexico was rated 4 (no one seems to complain about that one), yet the US beat them out for the concacaf championships. The US actually moved up after losing to Jamaica. Unless you're a new soccer fan, this shouldn't be a big surprise to you.

The ratings are kind of screwed up. The US doesn't play a lot of teams outside their division or whatever (CONCACAF) so they win a lot of games which contributes to their FIFA rating.

And the US team isn't actually as horrible as they were in their first 2 games. Whatev, I don't know what the hell happened to them.

aah fifa rankings..utterly useless unless you don't know squat about football and want to get a slight idea of who the strong teams are...
it's a matter of the confederations teams play on, that's why usa and mexico score higher than england (they play the likes of honduras and canada), italy and argentina
(europe and south america are much more balanced and with tougher teams than central/north america)
for a good idea of relative power of teams check out sporting bets, when it's about making/loosing money, rankings are more likely to be realistic..
