Some common crimes associated with the KKK are burning of black churches, beatings, hanging a nooses above peoples doors, or burning crosses on non white's lawns. Commonly, the news will speak of white supremacists dragging people to their deaths. These are commonly associated with the KKK b/c they are committed by people in the KKK.
Another thing that this group stands for and vocalizes is its disapproval and anger towards the validity of Martin Luther King Day and the Holocaust. Not only does this group deny it within the group, but also they hold marching protests on days that honor or are significant remembrance days for either historical idea. Protests such as these are not an uncommon practice of the group. Often, the groups will make a point to march through neighborhoods that would classically disagree, neighborhoods of people that the KKK are outright against.
And yet another way that this group affects the general non - KKK associating community is through the media and other public movements. One large way that they have power to affect especially the youths of the American public is through the Internet. Whether or not their views are justifiable, correct, or proper for children, their Internet website directly links to a childhood page.

Yep, seen a bunch of them.

As a white guy working my way through grad school in a warehouse I was invited to attend a meeting of a local KKK group.

Later, as an activist I have helped organize peaceful counter-events...where diverse groups of people gather together across town from wherever the Klan is marching to share food, fun and fellowship.

Klansmen are afraid and need someone to blame; whether it's blacks, gays, Catholics, women or whoever. We should pity them, and pray for them, not hate them.

I have not seen any in the flesh. My question to you is, what is the point of groups like the Klan. Poor southern whites don't have to be scared of free slaves and Northern politicians taking away the livelihood anymore. There is now Meth so you too can be rich!!!!

yes i have while vacationing in the south, they were having some kind of festival that looked more like a picnic than anything else.
all the men wearing robes were showing their faces in public, no hiding behind a mask.

a free piece of advice Tex. you'll attract more flies with honey than vinegar. ;-) 14/5 WP_WB_WN.

Yes, I've seen them in person, and they weren't wearing masks or promoting hate, just passing out pro-white literature.

State of Ohio, not the south.

yes I saw them in Gary IN and they looked like a bunch of damn fools they got lucky that the black and Mexicans in the neighborhood didn't kick their ******* asses!! The Klan looked stupid and hateful they had nothing intelligent to say they sounded like a bunch of inbred white trash and it made me sick to my stomach that my fellow white man can still be traped in the Early 19th century . why don't you find a different chat site because your not wanted here, this is not a site for racists

Yes I have seen the white, rednecked, cowards that parade around with their faces covered yet claim to be so proud many many times. If your so proud, why do cover your heads?
