Probably not. I think the warning signs would be seen over a few hundred, but more likely a few thousand years. We well know Yellowstone is an active volcanic area and with frequent earthquakes, who knows a huge one might start the process.
I just think we will have the knowledge (or at least catch the warning signs) quick enough to divert a huge loss of life. It could destroy most of the US, leaving it in a cloud of deadly gases and smoke.
It will take thousands upon thousands of years for our scientists, geologists and everyone else involved in science to have a strong knowledge of our Mother Earth's everyday activities and how to prepare for them. I just hope it won't be too late.

Unknown, supervolcanic eruptions, although very rare, can occur very suddenly just like any other volcanic eruption with no buildup over the decades.

i dont think it will wipe out all life in north america. but i think it could do some damage to that region. personally i just think its just them trying to make good tv but thats just me.
