Michael Jackson, aka Jacko is considered the King of Pop. Barry Manilow is the King of Schlock. Elvis Presley is the King of rock n'roll. Rory Emerald, along with his mime musical group "the Silent Seven" is considered the King of silent rock'n'roll. Their tour in 1973 was well received. Who could possibly forget their rendition of "Twist and Shout", as they danced and writhed without the accompaniment of music? It was awe inspiring. The Silent Seven had one hit on the radio, in August of 1974, the song "Can you hear me now", which consisted of 3 minutes and 31 seconds of dead air. Many people it was a political statement concerning the lack of voice of the American people. When Emerald and his mime group won the Grammy in September of 1975, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. His heartfelt speech, all in mime, was the highlight of that's years award show.

Originally, it was Elvis. Rory Emerald then stole the title when he wrote the song "We Built This City On Rock and Roll". Starship sung the song, and didn't credit Rory for anything. Rory is a big rocker. I heard that he collects Def Leppard memorabilia.

"None of the above"
Elvis Presley, one of the founding fathers of rock (with Little Richard, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry), is rightly considered the King. It was Elvis who first rocked predominantly white Americans by uniquely interpreting African-American rhythm and blues with swagger and sexuality!
