The air conditioning unit needs to be re-charged, this has to be done at the dealership where you purchased the car or at a repair garage that is allowed to do it.

there are new laws that do not allow a car owner to re-charge the air conditioning unit themselves, also most cars now have the new kind of freon in them that has to be done with a special machine.

I suggest taking the car to a reputable mechanic or back to the dealer where you purchased the car and having the unit re-charged.

Try recharging it. You can go to an auto parts store and get a can of freon for like $8. That may be the problem, more likely with an older car.

could be as simple as adding freon, or you could have some failing components. Best to have it checked out by a mechanic if you are not familiar with how AC systems work.

Go to a mechanic and get him to put some freon in it. I just had the same problem last week.

first, check to see if the belt around your compressor is turning. If it is, just add some freon and that should solve your problem. If it's not turning, you may have a bigger problem starting with a bad compressor.
