Now more than ever the forth of july is a day for Americans to enjoy the fredoms our great country has to offer. In case you havent noticed ther's a war going on,and people are protecting your fredoms all around the world making it possible for you and I to sit at our keyboards safely and wonder.
The forth isnt about cook outs or fireworks or even parades, It's about the greatest thing that ever happened to you and if you dont think thats true go stand in any entry port in this country and look at the faces of the new imigrants.
As far as that goes look at the returning Americans faces, I've seen them kiss the ground!
Maybe when people in America think were not doing every thing right they should be sent to another country for a couple days just to see how things go down in the rest of the world.
So in closing let me say,Have a very happy 4th and thanks to our troops!

(please don't hate me for saying this)
the 4th of July is a joke and is not celebrated the way it should much like Christmas!! the thing is nowadays people just pop expensie fireworks that let out fumes that are not good for the environment and barbecue and watch tv for the rest of the night!! we should be thinking about the ones that worked hard to give us our independence. but on the other hand the 4th is a lie because woman didn't get to be independent, african american's were still slaves and asians and latino pretty much weren't allowed into the coundtry!! so i think the 4th of July isn't worth wasting energy over!!

Like most national holidays that have strong meaning, July 4th has turned from a day of remembrance to a day of forgetting. Most of my friends just think it's a day for grilling and watching fireworks. Only a few people still look at the historical meaning and honor it.

The 4th of july was a celebration of being seperated country other than a English Territory. Now of days it's commercialized like any other holiday.
What we should be doing is spending the day thanking the people who protect our freedom and being thankful.

I think the 4th of July brings out the best of the people in this country. I love the fireworks, the cookouts, the fairs, the family getting together, whole towns or blocks celebrating. Flags flying, bands playing, people in red, white and blue. Cherry pies, watermelon eating contests.
What a wonderful country. And the people in it are very, very unique.

Once it was a big deal to enjoy the 4th of July but now most just look at it as a day off work of so they can drink more.

To me it means a great deal.I love my country and I thank God every day that I was born in the United States of America. I think about what it took to gain our independence...of the sacrifices and of the many who died. The Revolutionary war, Francis Scott Key writing a beautiful poem that would later become our National Anthem, which I proudly sing. ( And yes, I KNOW EVERY WORD.) I think about the Civil War and how my great Grandfather, a Southern, fought in many battles, Sharpsburg and Gettysburg, to name a few. (He was in Pickett's Charge!!) After all the bloodshed and turmoil, our country survived and began the healing process. I think about WW! and WW11...I remember the story my father told when he first heard of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Korea....a friend of mine fought there. He tells me his stories but doesn't realize that what he considered matter of fact, I consider bravery. I think about and pray about the men who fought in Viet Nam. What a group of underrated, under appreciated men. My brother, a United States Marine, fought over there. The first time I ever saw my father cry was when he said goodbye to my brother. He made it back ...sadly he died of cancer almost 2 years ago. I sat by his side that last night. I made sure that the doctors and nurses all saluted him before they left the room. They did this with a great deal of sincerity. I sang the Marine Hymn very softly to him. His memorial service was Marine Corps, all the way. This is what I think about on the 4th of July. My heart is filled with gtatitude and love. Thank you for allowing me to express myself.

I think it's just you. We all know it is Independence Day and the mistake is believing that it should be celebrated the way you think it should be celebrated. Being American means that you have the right to believe and celebrate anyway you want. It also means that you have the choice to believe in God or not. The point is, you celebrate your way and let others celebrate the way they want to on their own- it's their right.

It is a holiday to celebrate the birth of the United States of America, and the more you enjoy time with your family (sun in cancer) and have lively entertainment (gemini rising), then yeah, she is celebrated accordingly.
