For example a whole lot of people say the world is round, yet I am sure there are few who would disagree. And instead of embracing our differences we reject them. We have this common thread of always wanting to be right.

If I disagree with you will you embrace or reject me?

There would be no way of 'growing' if everyone agreed. Yes, some people never grow because they stridently resist learning. Others, however, do want to grow and the only way to do so is to encounter an idea or thought or belief that is different or new.

Rather than agreeing on things, I would like to suggest that it is far more important to intelligently discuss things. Sadly, with 'political correctness' run amok, it is often not easy to have intelligent discussions on important issues today. This reality is very dangerous for the long-term survival of a democratically conceived society.

P.S. I believe the Flat Earth Society actually exists and they promote the belief that the world is flat.

If I remember correctly from my 9th grade earth science class, the world isn't actually a perfect sphere, but is slightly wider than it is tall. I'm splitting hairs here, however... =O)

I think it's safe to assume all people would agree that they would like the world to be a better place for future generations. They'll all disagree on how that should be accomlished though...

Because not everyone has the same perspective, nor the same way of looking at things, nor the same interests. We are all different like the colors, and that's why we talk and discuss a point of view of someone or an idea and get to the most reasonable decision.

I don't.If I'm wrong I'll be the first to say so...But I don't get the chance to; especially with the one who counts the most...I never know if I'm saying the right or wrong things....I have no idea what I did or didn't do to upset them or not........I'm at my wit's end and that's the truth.......Is that a common thread to admit it when you're wrong.....what is it...tell me please........

I challenge you to disagree that it's valuable to be able to make value judgments - even if your value judgment is to die because life is no longer bearable.

To disagree that the ability to make value judgments is valuable would involve self-refutation, because the disagreement would involve making a value judgement which you would value for its necessary part in your alleged disagreement.
