Well, can't give much advice but here goes. I'll stick with where I live because I might be a bit partial. Anyway, I would recomend the Dallas area in Texas. I believe the job oportunities here are good if not great. As far as crime goes, I suppose all major cities have crime problems, so I would move into the suburbs. I know that I've never really had a problem with it. And if you hate the wind then don't move to Chicago. It has the reputation of being "The windy city" for good reason. Good Luck.

Definetely Nebraska! We have a 3 bedroom house, fenced in yard and garage and we only pay $390 a month! In a big city this house would go for atleast $1500 a month! Its very cheap to live here and there r some great jobs too! As far as raising kids- u cant get much better than here! U can still leave doors unlocked, you can warm up your car in the winter for 20 minutes and it will still be there when u get back! People make promises with a hand shake and they mean it!

Iowa = Americas Heartland! The last best place to live. Low crime and overall low cost of living. We moved here from Ohio (Columbus) three yrs ago and have not regretted it! We are in the Northern part just south of Minnesota and right across the Mississippi River, BEAUTIFUL country!

If you're a ghetto yuppie and want some connection to arts and culture, Find a small town with a large liberal arts college. Ohio has a bunch of them like Oberlin and Yellow Springs. Austin, TX or Madison, WI are a couple others that come to mind.

That's such a huge question-- you need to give more criteria. America has EVERYHING-- every climate, every environment, every socioeconomic environment, every extreme and it's HUGE. I couldn't begin to recommend form your question. For me, it's not worth living if it's not rural and within driving distance to the ocean. Low housing doesn't say much. You can get a mansion in some parts he mid west for nothing but won't find a place to work within a commuting distance. On the other hand, you could find a place for peanuts in Philadelphia but it'll be a dump.

you want the chilly, huh? i might want to genuinely say the northwest, distinctly in case you pick to do stuff contained in the chilly. I purely moved to Oregon from Vegas and that i particularly like it! even if i don't love the chilly so I stay close to the coast. I listen Washington is purely as suited and northern Idaho is gorgeous.
