Victor Jara.
He was a Chilean songwriter / political activist, who supported the government of Salvador Allende. When the military overthrew Allende, Jara was rounded up with thousands of others and brought to the stadium in Santiago, where he was beaten and tortured. Within a few days he was machine-gunned to death.
