i have tattoos on both ankles (both colored in) & they really didn't "hurt". but of course you can feel the needle.. it all depends on how you perceive pain.

I have ivy and roses around my left ankle just above the ankle bone. For the most part, it only stung when they wiped the alcohol across where they had already colored in to wipe the blood off. Then when they were close to the Achilles area in the back it hurt. Plus aftewards you have to be careful with socks or pants that rub the scab, it can be painful too. It also depends on your pain tolerance level as to whether or not it will hurt badly or just a little. I have a friend that got one in the same place and she just about passed out from the pain but i only flinched on the Achilles. Each person is different.

Getting a tat is not to bad no matter where it's at. Even though some places do hurt a little more than others. But the artist doing the tat will periodically lift up the needle to wipe away the excess ink and blood. Therefore, it never gets unbareable. Just when I would start thinking I couldn't take it any more, he would stop and wipe. The worst pain for me was actually after he was done, had sprayed it, wiped it clean, put the antibiotic cream on it, bandaged it, and then it started burning. That lasted about an hour or so, then that was the end of it.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

My friend got a Grateful Dead tattoo that went around his whole ankle. He said it wasn't that bad until the needle hit his Achilles tendon. Then it hurt like a *****.

Yeah tattoos hurt..It's not so bad on the upper part of the ankle, but when you get closer to the ankle bone it starts to really sting.

My daughters boyfriend is a licensed tatto artist. All tattos hurt for a while, no matter where they are on the body. But generally just while they are being done and for a few hours after.

It's not the tattoo that hurt, its the process of drawing them the one that aches!
