Many people have some degree of astigmatism. In fact, it is rare to find a perfectly formed eye. Astigmatism is thought to be hereditary, so if you have astigmatism, chances are good your children will have it also.

I have 20/15 (perfect) vision and my daughter has astigmatism, her dad is nearsighted, her eye doctor told me that its from the way her eyes are shaped so i dont think so..

i don't think it is. i have astigmatism, but i don't think my parents have it. don't worry about it.
