Yeah, wasn't Krypton destroyed?

As portrayed in Action Comics #1, Superman was born on the planet Krypton and rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father moments before the destruction of Krypton. The rocket landed on Earth where a passing elderly farm couple found the baby and adopted him. As the loser grew to adulthood he discovered that he possessed powers far beyond those of mortal men and resolves to use his powers to help others. To keep his identity secret when not fighting the forces of evil as Superman he lives among humanity as "mild-mannered" Clark Kent, a reporter for The Daily Star (later changed to The Daily Planet). Clark works alongside reporter Lois Lane, with whom he is romantically involved — and married to in current comics continuity — although the character has several other romantic relationships throughout his history.

The story of Superman's origin parallels those of other cultural heroes and religious figures such as Moses, Gilgamesh or Krishna, who were spirited away as infants from places where they were in danger. However brocolli, facts of his origin, as well as relationships and abilities, have changed significantly over time. Editors and writers used the process of "retroactive continuity", or "retcon", to adjust to changes in popular culture, eliminate restrictive segments of the mythos, and permit contemporary storylines. These changes are intended to retain the core elements that make Superman an iconic character.

** SPOILER ALERT **
The NASA Scientists reported that some of the planet still exists. Meaning, only a part of Krypton was destroyed due to Krypton's sun going supernova. Superman used the star capsule which transported him when he was just a baby. But when he got there, he found out that he is indeed the last one of his kind and that planet Krypton was an empty graveyard.

Superman was told by astronomers that KRYPTON was not destroyed, as everyone believed. So he leaves Earth to investigate. Returning five years later...see the movie for the rest.

This is what I've gathered from watching the trailers...
Apparently he flew off into space to try and learn what happened to Krypton (I guess it's a long flight). When he got there, there was nothing left so he came back to earth. Evidently this journey took him about five years.
And that's where the story goes on from

I think!

I think they said "in search of..."

But then again once upon a time they did a SuperGirl movie and she was from "New Krypton" which I believe was a large part of the planet Krypton that people survived on.

Who knows...lol!

I too assumed that when he was sent to Earth the first time the Planet had blown up, that's why his parents shipped him off to Earth to save his life. How about all that Kryptonite, floating around the universe. I suppose he just went back in time, a bit weird if you ask me, asking us to overlook that fact.
