and I know you know this one !
it all depends on that CAT !
some cats just about purr ..and they purr so softly that any instrumentation might not legible ...
and the ones I like, WELL you know when those CATS are around because their meow is so loud they demand respect....
and those I love a lot....
so as I am saying there is s huge range of Kitties...some so so quiet and others so so loud...and the ones that do get us to get up and stand, I never have the time to try and measure their decibel level..

a cat in heat can produce a piercing 8 to 12 db/ and you can run him with a high pitched 100+ db sound sure to make him or her have a slight headache, or you can go lo tech and use that shoe you found on the freeway

Different cats have different Volumes, My cat is deaf and Meow very loudly (he ca nfeel the vibrations that way) neibors typicaly think it's a baby crying. it is that loud.
