Why is the "never hit a girl" rule still in place?

I want to say that I'm not a brute, but come on..... this happened to me a while ago... this chick ... from out of the blue, kicked me in the crotch, just clipping my left... well, u know.... so i punched her in the face. Nothing broken, but she got a black eye. AND I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT IN TROUBLE! WTF is up with that? I'm all for women's rights.... including the right get hit when they deserve it.

I couldn't agree with you more, here's what I think: Women want equality, therefore, if a girl klobbers a guy, the guy has every right to strike back cause we are both human, therefore it is equality in full force! And this whole excuse about, oh men are so much stronger, so they shouldn't hit back, is the epitome of BS- here's what I say to that, if you don't wanna get whacked upside your stupid head bittch, don't hit a guy!!!

obviously not a brute, but most likely a very immature young man. You don't hit woman (at least not close fist ed) because statistically they are much smaller, much weaker, and all together cannot with stand the punishment that a testosterone induced males such as ourselves can handle. So buddy you do not punch woman PERIOD. Unless that woman is bigger, tougher and will not stop threatening your life. I myself being bigger then most any woman could ever be will never Punch a woman I don't care what kind of female it may be I could always bear huge her and if I had to put her to sleep with a sleeper hold. so unless a woman hit you in the head with a baseball bat or shot you in the leg with a gun I really wouldn't condone hitting them with your fist. Slapping on the other hand can be useful especially after taking a few slaps or punches yourself. Don't expect to ever be considered a gentlemen if you are to continue punching woman, besides when you get kicked in the nadds you usually deserve it and hey if you really didn't deserve it you could have just kicked her in the box instead of pucnhing her. A black eye is degrading and makes for a big topic of discussion which always leads back to WHO DID IT that being you this can't be good for your rep. Dude, sometimes, we just have to abide by society's rules, even when they don't make sense. Since the earliest of time most western cultures put women on a pedestal, to protect them, we also would not let them vote, own land, or choose thier own husbands for many years, but they were treated well. As women have whittled away many of the old traditions, they still want this one, and men still want it as well. It never looks good to pick on the weak, run op the score , or hurt someone when they are down, same as hitting a female. So i fear it will be with us for some time, it takes generations to effect cultural change, and in some cases it never happens. Sorry .

Well, clearly, you shouldn't be the only one who got in trouble, but it sounds like you have a biased administration in power.

That said, what you did was still not right. You should never respond in violence anyway, unless you feel your life is threatened, and that clearly wasn't the case here.

Further, if you are, as you say, 'all for women's rights', then you should have respected her right not to be hit, just as she should have respected your right not to be kicked.

I think you've got a long way to go to get to the stage of being a chivalrous gentleman, so I'd say the whole "never hit a girl" thing is probably meaningless for you until you at least rise to the level of 'civilized' first.

Tough to answer. Each case is individually judgeable. I don't like hitting - - - anyone. Not boys on girls, not girls on boys, nobody should hit another. Unfortunately society sees girls as the weaker vessels and it seems unfair for a guy to hit a girl. You caught heck for doing what was socially unacceptable while she remained unjudged.

The question remains, why did SHE kick YOU? Have to wonder if maybe it was deserved. But, in the end, no one expects a girl to really be any serious threat to a guy, though I'm with you, she shouldn't have done that, and gotten away with it.

Its an archaic rule to keep men from abusing women. I'd say if a girl kicks you in the crotch, she deserves a black eye. Women should not be able to live with the security that they can get away with all this crap without any retribution.

First of all, I doubt very much that anyone just came up to you and kicked you in the crotch. That one is right out of your imagination.
So you punched her ? You didn't say how big you are and how big the girl was.
If a man ( not you, a MAN) harms a girl, she should at least be double his size. Even then he's a lousy coward.

The real rule is never start a physical fight with a female. You will lose. If you lose in the fight, that looks bad. If you win, that is bad. You've lost as a human being. Women like the one you met up with give ladies a bad name. She should have been the one who got in trouble.

She was the only one with visible injuries. Assault is assault and you both should have been arrested. Hitting back is not a reasonable, adult response to being hit unless you must do so to protect yourself. It's unfortunate that she is not being punished too, but your punishment is certainly warranted.

It's ok dude I'll come to your rescue, if someone assaults you reguardless of sex, race, religion, whatever you have a right to defend yourself, especially if someone kicks you in the balls, cuz thats just not cool. double standards are everywhere, people either you want special treatment or you want equality you cant have both.
