As a 4 year breast cancer survivor, diagnosed at age 31, and someone who works in a comprehensive breast center, I can tell you that saline breast implants are safer than silicone implants. Although saline implants are filled with saline, the casing itself is made of silicone, but silicone implants look better than saline.

Silicone implants have been banned by the FDA, and right now are only approved for breast cancer reconstruction patients. If a saline implant breaks, the saline will be absorbed by your body, so the risk of cancer is mild; however, that will mean additional surgery to replace it. Also, an implant only lasts for about 10 - 15 years and then hardens up and must be replaced anyway. They aren't good for life.

Lastly, implants make it harder to read a mammogram, therefore making cancer detection more difficult. If this is something you feel you really have to do, then just weigh your options, and consider the risk versus the result.

Oh, and monthly breast self exams save lives. It saved mine. Good luck to you dear.

Plastic surgeons will tell you they're okay. But the truth is, putting anything artificial in your body can cause your body to become sick. There are many women out there who are fighting autoimmune diseases (where the body attacks itself) because of breast implants. Someone might say, "Well what about artificial joints and such." Well, sometimes there is no choice and you need an artificial piece in your body in order to make it work right. But putting in an artificial joint at the age of 50 with about 20 years left in that body is probably not going to cause the amount of problems that a breast implant will do when it's put in at the age of 20 and it's in there for 50 more years. And you can't just go in there and take them out easily after 20 years. The body starts to build calcifications around it.

A morturary spokesman, upon opening a casket that had been unearthed following burial five years earlier, remarked, upon looking at the skeleton, and seeing a silicon implant on each side of the exposed rib cage (slightly slid down), " Yup, it's a woman, alright!: Adding, "Damm, those look like 36DD."

i would think so, you have to take good care of yourself. if you no happy with your breast, implants is not the answer. you need to excerise.you can get breast cancer,or the breast can link.so dont put self in to that, you can cause some really bad damage to your body.

medical types can't seem to decided whether the implants themselves are truely bad or not. I personally, wouldn't feel safe with something that is not natural being in my body. ALso.....ANY SURGERY CAN BE DEADLY. Even a simple tooth extraction could lead to an infection or stroke causing blood clot. Is it worth the risk?

Yes because you might get an infection or might make them to big and than expolde and do you know how they do it ? They make a hole in your belly button for it to go through your normal breast and then push it to make tissue and than some liquid to fill them in to the size you pick.

Implants would indeed be bad for me. Only because they are not needed. I have been blessed.
