Some roadside bombs are designed to discharge from pressure, that is a vehicle rolling over it. Some may even be set up so that more than average weight must roll over it in order to discharge. This way, an ordinary passenger car may not set it off, yet a heavier military vehicle will set it off. Some roadside bombs are set off by a remote triggering device. This is when an in surgent will have visual contact with a vehicle and will set off a bomb with a remote device, when the vehicle is in range of the bomb.
They are designed to do as much damage as they possibly can, and unfortunately our military hasn't figured out how to avoid these damn things.

I have asked myself that question.....if the mines are buried in the sand, how come the military vehicle goes off the road, so to speak, and gets blown up. Sounds like bad drivers to me. Or, could it be that the mines have remotes on them and the bad guys see our military vehicle coming and then "BOOM". With all the high-tech gear we have, how come no one has developed a jamming device for our jeeps? No signal, no "BOOM" !

Well, I don't know how much experience YOU have driving a tank, I know I have no experience in that myself. They look like they don't steer easily. But another reason is the enemy has become quite creative in planting the things. Dogs, other animals, and human remains more recently. Uh, they are hidden?

Over one hundred,000 civilians were killed in Iraq. i need someone to discuss what percentage Al Qaeda terrorists were captured or killed in evaluation to that. they don't look to be in wheelchairs with out passports. Why would all of them stick round for a conflict? If there became a great number of terrorists there, they purely moved on to Malaysia, Pakistan, or Syria, or between the thousands of different international places they have operations in. extra protection is needed over right here, no longer over there. we are spending over $2 hundred million an afternoon in Iraq on my own, yet airport safe practices won't be able to even keep shoe bombers from the united kingdom and places like Nigeria off our planes. we've for sure distributed our elements into the incorrect places. in the period in-between, we've affected over one hundred,000 households, which equals tens of millions of folk who've lost someone as therefore of the this conflict. What do you imagine those youngsters are going to imagine as they advance up in all that destruction with kinfolk killed? We purely created an finished era of destiny terrorists who will be genuinely recruited into Al Qaeda. insurrection does no longer equivalent Terrorist. in the experience that they got here to visit right here and became us of a right into a conflict zone, those who preserve their land will be insurgents.

The enemy has adapted itself to producing Improved Explosive Devices that catch our soldiers off guard. They've even hid them around children, elderly and women knowing that it goes against our culture - not theirs.

Because the mines are there and when they are set off they tend to explode and kill the soldiers....
Do you honestly think they are out there trying to get killed????

Mines are buried or hid. It is impossible to know where they are. They are very seldom seen. Hope that helps you to understand why.
