A friend of mine told me that for him the World Cup begins at the quater finals,for that is when the men have been separated from the boys or to be gender sensitive the women have been separated from the girls.So u for is the world cup now really about to begin?

Well maybe your friend is right because all the best teams made it through, you see more quality in the games! but dunno, it's a question of opinion

That is a stupid analogy. That is like saying the NFL season doesn't start until January area when you get into Conference Finals. There is so much more that determines who makes it to the big groups as it is. There was a lot of soccer being played before the actual "World Cup" competition started because there were other teams that got eliminated before that too.

Sorry I don't agree......
The WORLD cup started back in June the 9!
When 40 countries came to play
ALL teams did well some better than other but this WORLD cup has been full of surpries and I feel there's many more to come.

Not this time around. It's been fantastic so far so for me it began the day it began. It's been some great football so far. Except for the Portugal/Netherlands game. LOL. I've been enjoying every game. Now it's getting harder 'cause you've got the best of the best playing. But so far so good.

the world cup ended for me when the US was out.. i knew they weren't going to win it but i was so disappointed... they did get a tough group tho.... oh well... now italy's my team
