I say you shouldnt let her be mean to you cause you are paying her and why waste your money on such a mean person i say you talk to her and if that doesnt work take her to court and get your money back and get a new and niceier teacher.

I have been a dance teacher for 6 years, and like all good dancers I contunue to take classes from as many poeple as I can. That is the best way to learn new styles and techniques, and keep on your toes. From my experience, as long as she is not beating you, the tougher the class is the better. Remember that old saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger,"? Pull your teacher aside in private and let her know how you feel, and stick with it. Your teacher is probably pushing you because he/she knows what potential you have and is trying to get you to work harder so you can be the best dancer you can be. I have shed a many of tears in classes through the years, but in the long run it makes me a better person, and what I learn about myself in the studio I take outside into every aspect of my life. I feel it makes me a stronger person. Talk to your instructor, who may not even know they are making you feel this way, and see how it goes form there. If you are truly miserable, change studios after your chat. Make sure it is for the right reasons.

Consider what she is trying to accomplish. Are students in the class being disrespectful, not listening or coming to the class having not practiced? She may be trying to get her pupils to get their moneys worth of the class. Try to look at it from her view and then decide if her behavior is necessary to run a good class.

I don't think you should stop if you like dancing. You should say something, or get your mom to say something. I wouldn't stand UP to her, but maybe talk to her after class about your problem.
If it gets really bad maybe you should change studios.

Just try your best and be a great dancer stand up to her but not with words but with good dancing forcing her to say something good which will be hard for her which will make her relize how smart and good you are :)!!!
Good luck!!!!

Maybe she's trying to instill discipline in you. If she is mean, as in rude and condescending, then find another teacher. If she is mean as in critiquing you and insisting you practice more often, then she is a good teacher.
