Led Zeppelin is highly regarded as probably the greatest ever. They influenced many other bands. The Doors as well I think come in a close second.

Good question! You know that Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" will always be considered the number one song of all time. But, I think that Black Sabbath is probably the original rock band that started it all, it was a sound never heard before and to this day continues in the rock tradition by providing modern day rock bands with a venue...Ozzfest

this is really a subjective ? That is like asking for the all time greatest ice cream flavor. There are different likes and dislikes-as far as talent is concerned, I would have to say Utopia, they had strong lyrics, Todd's engineering genious and originality

The Beatles...they proved on the White Album that they could play anybody's style better than the other groups themselves and also because they were the most innovative and creative.

the Beatles

They PUSHED THE ENVELOPE on what musicians were and could become. They covered, created, matured, experimented and bowed out gracefully after creating a music catalog that cannot be beat. Although, I also wonder what they would have become WITHOUT George Martin.

The Rolling Stones. They are so prolific, and still rockin' today. Just listen to Gimmie Shelter and tell me it's not the best ever.
