if the player accumulates 2 yellow cards, or gets a red card, then he has to sit out the next match
so if i got a yellow card in one game, then another one in the next, i have not gotten a red card but i have accumulated 2 yellows so i have to sit out the 3rd match. or if i got a red card, i would have to sit out

One yellow card, a player plays the next match.
Two yellow cards(in different matches ~ accumulative), a player misses the next match.
Red card ( = 2 yellow cards in the same match), a player misses the next match.

It is also for yellow cards if the player has accumulated 2 yellow cards through that particular round (2 yellow = red).
One yellow card doesn't mean much by itself but it is a warning to the player that they will be out if they fouled up again.

its only red cards unless you are already carrying a yellow or had already gotten a yellow that game then got another one... but a red kicks you out for the rest of that game and the next one

If they only get one yellow, they don't necessarily have to sit the next game out, but the coach may choose to make them (to prevent them from getting a red and missing a really important game).
