He was a trader from Stratford upon Avon. He used to publish Christopher Marlow plays for him because Marlow had faked his on death and fled to France.

This is why Shakespeare, who couldn't write produced so many plays in a identical style to Marlow's work only after Marlow had "died". And why the statue of Shakespeare shows him with a sack (a symbol of a trader) and not a pen.

He wrote great plays.His contribution to English literature and drama /theatre is un parallelled in history.There is no other authour known all over the world.All his works had been translated into all known languages.To the world outside Britain,English Literature is known as Shakespear only!

he wrote several plays that were very entertaining for its time. he is also famous for the way he uses his words and puts them together. some people say that the modern English language is influenced alot by this write.
