It seems like we're 2 peas in a pod! Genetically -I am petite and slender (thanks to my dad's side of the family) so I also look to gain (especially during bikini season) instead of loose weight as I burn mine off quickly (high metabolism - thanks to pops again!). I've heard the same lip that some of the others have left in comments to you - To hell with 'em sistah!
I personally consulted my family practitioner regarding the same issue. He first calculated what my daily calorie intake should be. He suggested that I first and foremost always make sure I'm eating 5 small but well rounded meals a day that total what I should be intaking daily. If you're like me and just "not hungry" sometimes, certain foods (celery with peanut butter) and vitamins (B vitamin complex) will actually help you naturally increase you appetite which will greatly assist in the next part.
Once you know what your average daily calorie intake is and you're eating that amount regularly, increase it in levels of 100 calories per week till you've added about 400 to 500 calories to what your intake was at the start. This should greatly help in putting on some weight slowly but naturally. Sounds easy but to actually do it regularly and by eating the right foods can be tricky.
Don't eat alot of junk food but make healthier selections that just have higher calories than what you might have normally chose. For example, say you're having plain cereal for breakfast. Add some calories by substituting the milk with a cup of yogurt and add 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries or blueberries to it. As a mid-day snack, eat wheat crackers with cheese, a 1/4 cup of cashews and a glass of orange juice. When you add these type of items to your diet, you're increasing the calorie intake but in a good way.
You can also investigate online. Check websites on marathon training. They usually have suggested menus on there as runners usually "beef up" for the big race.
Lastly - I apologize to you for those who feel the need to leave rude comments as they don't realize that sometimes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Some people actually feel better about themselves with a few extra pounds on just like those who feel great once they just loose that "extra" 10. The emotional comfort (although on opposite ends) actually stems from the same principal foundation of having a good self image. As long as you're not putting yourself at a health risk and you consult a physician before making any major change like this to your diet and lifestyle, they have no place to make such judgement calls.
Best of luck darlin!

Hi Hun,
As it sounds to me,you are the correct weight for your height, but if you want to gain more weight try exercising. I know it sounds odd but muscle weighs more than fat and as you tone up you will gain more weight. If you continue to eat right and exercise you will gain weight in a healthy manner and not get flabby from junk food. It works just like if you are trying to loose weight. first you loose body fat then you gain muscle.
I hope this helps...Good luck

Bless you, if I knew you in person I probably would be so darn jealous. You know how few people have that problem as their hips grow by the second. Do you try fattening food? Ice cream, french fries, a 1/4 lb hamburger, bacon and mashed potatoes?

Don't eat so much junk food unless you want to get a heart attack or obesity. I say you probably need to eat just a few more calories than most people. They also have shakes at GNC that can help you gain weight.

talk to your doctor. he might have some weigth gain shakes or a diet plan that could help. or eat constantly. but not just on snickers and chocolate chips. eat tons of healthy things too. like steak, egg salad sanwiches, yogurt. dont excersise as much but still excercise some, you want to stay healthy and in shape. but dont go on about this to your friends. thousands of girls would love to have your problem. so although its a nusiance to you, be sensetive when talking about it to your friends.

Less activity & more calories= weight gain. Problem is you want it to go to certain areas & not others ~~ when you gain weight, your genes will determine where it goes (and it all won't go to boobs)... mostly things, stomach & face
