Try Google Maps for a version that doesn't require any software and will work in your browser (click the Hybrid or Satellite buttons once you load it).
For a seperate program that has a lot of cool, extra features, try Google Earth.
Both will provide you with directions, too. Links in the source.

In addition to Google Earth you could also try Yahoo! Maps, which does have satellite imagery as well as normal route-finding maps, but only for the US and Canada I believe. You don't have to download any software.

Google Earth. Have to down load it. You can zoom in anywhere in the world. Not sure how recent all the pics are.
My bf built his house 5 years ago and we can see it.
