Most likely, what you are describing IS a pimple -- a blockage of a sebaceous gland that becomes infected. If it is located more on the inside of the vaginal opening, it may be a Bartholin's gland cyst or abscess; this is again a blockage of a gland opening, leading to buildup of fluid in the gland and subsequent infection.

The best treatment is hot compresses preferably a washcloth which you can heat under running hot water-- do not pop it! Popping something like this is only going to increase the chance of causing an infection or worsening a mild infection. If it gets worse, call your doctor's office and tell the receptionist you have an infection and you must be seen that day or the next. It doesn't do any good to go in once the growth has disappeared. Most offices keep a slot or two open every day for just this sort of thing.

If you are sexually active, you need to go to planned parenthood, and get checked for sexually transmitted diseases. Even if your guy has only been with one other girl, he could give you something. If you are a virgin, it could be something else, but I would err on the safe side and have a pap smear to have it checked out. There are other possibilities as well. *good luck* oh- and if you are having sex, make him use protection. This might be embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as having to tell your partner (past, present, and future) about a sexually transmitted disease that will never go away.

I get them on my butt cheeks and they hurt, I have to sit in a hot bath of Epsom salt and soak until they pop on there own. I used to get them under my breast a lot too, but not lately. I went to the Doctor and they said that all women go through that and that I had nothing to worry about. Maybe you should consult a Doctor just to be on the safe side, especially dealing with that part of your body.

I really think the answer you are seeking is from a medical professional. Please see a doctor. No one here is going to be able to give you good advice about a suspicious bump.

If you have been sexually active it could be vaginal worts. I would see a doctor and get them checked out either way.

It could be a pimple, an ingrown hair, or (if you've had unprotected sex) a symptom of herpes. If you're worried about it, see your gynaecologist.
