Please read the book of Acts in the New Testament. The people (the church) met together to learn, spread the word, and to worship. There were no Catholics or Protestants..... Everyone was a follower of Jesus Christ and His teachings to love God with all of your heart and love your neighbor as yourself... Not any religion.

In John 13:34, Jesus says, "A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

The bible says in Romans that it is never what we do (religion) that saves us. It is what Jesus did on the cross.

When someone asks me what religion I am, I always just say Christian.

Catholics are Catholics - but they could be considered Christians because they do believe all the Christian principles - the Holy Trinity, Jesus, etc. But usually when you refer to a Catholic you would just say that the person is a Catholic.

Anyone who will confess that Jesus is Lord and ask for Forgiveness will be saved and allow God to work through thier life for his Purpose. But most Roman Catholics are not taught that they need be saved through Christ and Him only and therefore pass off the oppurtunity for a relationship with God rather than Religion.

NO! Catholics are not considered Christians. Just because you believe in Jesus and have a religion doesn't make you a Christian. Every religion is different. And Jesus is not a religion.

Unfortunately people place too much importance on religion and religious tradition. Catholics are Christians by virtue of the fact that they consider Jesus Christ to be their Lord and saviour and that is the definition of a Christian, a follower ofJesus Christ. My advice to you is to look into why your fiance feels that way, she has been taught, wrongly that Catholics aren't Christians, why don't you take her to meet your priest and ask him to explain your faith to her. Good look and God bless.

Yes, Catholics are Christians. Christians are those that believe in and follow the teachings of Christ. Catholics believe that Christ is the Son of God, therefore they fall into the catagory of "Christians"
